My last role, when I left full time employment, was as the Society
Management Development & Training Manager at United Co-operatives,
the largest independent Co-operative society in the UK. I was responsible
to the Director of HR for the Training and Development of circa 16,000
staff across all the trading divisions, the leadership of the Training
Teams and personally responsible for the development of around 1000
Senior Managers.
It was a tough decision to leave at the end of 2006, however after
12 years of identifying, designing and delivering training to large
and small companies across the UK, I felt it was time to branch
out on my own.
I spent much of 2007 skippering my 37 foot cruising yacht “Windntide”
down the West Coast of the UK, across the Bay of Biscay and West
Coasts of Spain and Portugal to her current base in the Algarve.
Having established my Sailing company All
About Sailing, I now split my time between the UK, Spain and
Portugal indulging my two life passions, “Yachting” and
“Developing People”....so far I have no regrets!
